Mushrooms!! Did you ever go into your backyard one morning and find mushrooms (or toadstools) growing in your yard? That’s what happened in the southeast area of the Tucson Valley. Many Realtors can recall having to drive “all the way to the Vail area” to show some land. Just too far from anything. The area’s population was so small that the K through 12 school was in one school. Not quite a one room school like Little House On The Prairie but close. Then one day in the early 2000’s, Rancho del Lago was created. The next day (or so it seemed) no school could hold the numbers of children who suddenly appeared.Homes sprang up along the luxurious green of the 18 hole challenging golf course. Others are located on the hillsides with beautiful views of the Rincon Mountains and the Catalina’s as well. The higher elevation than Tucson, brings a somewhat cooler feel to the air. Builders suddenly discovered the advantages of the area and brought their own styles with them. Lennar Homes, Doucette, Pepper Viner and most recently, Del Webb has brought a lovely gated development into the area.Homes range from 2 to 5 bedrooms and from 1300 to over 4,000 square feet. There is something for just about everyone. Rancho del Lago is located in the Vail School District.
